The Take Back Bag is the simplest way to recycle unwanted clothing and textiles. Fill it up, send it back, and we'll divert it from landfills and make sure everything finds a new home. Plus, you'll earn 3000 TrashieCash™ for each bag, which you can redeem for deals at your favorite brands.
When will I receive my Take Back Bag?
Your Take Back Bag ships in 24 hours and will arrive within 10-14 business days.
How do I send my items back for recycling?
You can scan the QR code on your bag for shipping instructions! Generate your free shipping label and drop your bag off at any UPS location.
What can I put in the Take Back Bag?
You can recycle a variety of items with the Take Back Bag. Here's a breakdown:
Clothing
We accept pants, shirts, sweaters, coats, jackets, socks (even single socks), washed underwear, sweatshirts, swimwear, dresses, tops, leggings, sports bras, jerseys, uniforms, and kids' clothing.
Shoes
Send us sneakers, boots, high heels, sandals, mules, slides, and even single shoes!
Home Goods
We take back unsoiled bath towels, robes, sheets, pillowcases, blankets, down comforters, and duvet covers (no grease stains, please; grease can clog the recycling machines).
Accessories
We welcome bags, backpacks, purses, clutches, crossbody bags, belts, suspenders, hats, caps, helmets, jewelry, scarves, handkerchiefs, and bandannas.

Can I recycle non-clothing textiles in the Take Back Bag?
Yes, you can recycle shoes, bags, accessories, costumes, jewelry, and most textile home goods (as long as they're not soiled).
What happens to my items after I send them back?
We sort your items into over 250 categories. Around 70% are re-used globally, while over 20% are recycled into new fibers and for uses like pet bedding and building materials.
What is TrashieCash™ and how can I use it?
TrashieCash™ is our rewards platform. Redeem your TrashieCash™ for rewards on trashie.io. It's our way of rewarding you for recycling with us.
When will I receive my TrashieCash™?
You'll receive TrashieCash™ after registering your Take Back Bag. Soon, we will be changing this policy to award you with TrashieCash™ upon shipping. We are planning to make this change to incentivize you to actually drop off your stuff and recycle it. We're lazy too, so we know that a TBB can sit in your closet, car, or entryway for months. We think this change will provide a nice nudge to keep stuff out of landfills.
