Membership Terms
Welcome to the terms and conditions (“Terms”) for the Trashie Membership program (the “Membership”). These Terms are between you and For Days, Inc. DBA Trashie (referred to as “Trashie”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) and govern your rights and responsibilities as a member. By enrolling in the Membership and agreeing to be bound by these Terms, you also agree to the Trashie Privacy Notice, Trashie Rewards Program Agreement, Trashie Terms of Service, and any other terms applicable to specific offers, rewards, or TrashieCash™ benefits (collectively, the “Trashie Policies”).
1. Membership Use
Trashie offers an "Unlimited" membership to its service allowing members to recycle clothing, textiles, and electronic waste without individual Take Back Bag or Tech Back Box limits, subject to these Terms and the Trashie Policies.
Memberships are designed for use by a single household. Each Membership:
- Must be registered under one (1) email address
- May include up to two (2) shipping addresses associated with the same household
Members are responsible for ensuring that usage across both addresses remains within the scope of the Trashie Polices and, specifically but without limitation, within the scope of household recycling behavior, as set forth in our Fair Use Policy (see below). Any attempt to extend benefits beyond these limits (e.g., to multiple households or unrelated individuals) may result in account review, suspension, or termination.
2. Membership Benefits
Our Members enjoy access to early product releases and other perks as outlined on our Membership page. Some of these perks may include: early access to new recycling services and partner offers, priority support from our customer service team, and in-home pickup (coming in late 2025). We may add, change, or remove benefits over time at our discretion.
3. Fees
Memberships may be purchased only on an annual basis. The Membership fee, including any applicable sales or use taxes, (together the “Membership Fee”) and applicable billing cycle (e.g., monthly or annual) can be viewed in your account. By joining, you authorize Trashie to charge your provided payment method on a recurring basis.
4. Automatic Renewal
Subject to applicable law, unless you cancel before your next billing date, your Membership will automatically renew for the same length of time as the term originally selected by you. We will remind you of the renewal in advance (at least thirty (30) days but no more than sixty (60)), and notify you of any increase to the Membership Fee or other change in service terms before the renewal takes effect. You authorize us to collect the Membership Fee using any eligible payment method on file. If your payment fails, we may attempt to charge another payment method, or suspend your Membership until payment is successful. By enrolling in the Membership, you agree to receive electronic communications, including e-mail regarding renewal.
5. Membership Cancellation
You may cancel your Trashie Membership at any time by contacting our support team at support@trashie.com or by adjusting your account settings.
- If you cancel within 3 business days of signing up and have not used any Membership benefits (e.g., no bags requested, no TrashieCash™ earned or spent), you will receive a full refund.
- If you cancel after 3 business days and have never used any benefits (e.g., no bags requested, no TrashieCash™ earned or spent), you may be eligible for a prorated refund based on the balance of your Membership term.
- For the annual Membership, your refund will be the remaining months in your Membership, including the month in which you cancel.
If you use any Membership benefits (e.g., request or use a bag or box, or earn or spend TrashieCash™), you will not be eligible for a refund but you may continue to use your Membership until the end of the Membership period.
All refund decisions are subject to Trashie’s sole discretion, subject to applicable law.
6. Fair Use Policy for Unlimited Membership
Trashie offers an "Unlimited" membership designed for typical household use, allowing members to recycle clothing, textiles, and electronic waste without individual Take Back Bag or Tech Back Box limits. However, to maintain service quality, we apply a Fair Use Policy.
6.1 Household Use Only
Membership is intended for use by a single household. Use by businesses, organizations, or for resale purposes is strictly prohibited. For business use, and for Take Back Bag orders over 20 - reach out to partnerships@trashie.io for wholesale orders.
6.2 Reasonable Usage Thresholds
While marketed as “unlimited,” the Membership is subject to reasonable usage limits as determined by Trashie in its sole discretion based on average household behavior. Excessive usage that normal residential recycling patterns may result in:
- Temporary suspension of services
- Additional charges
- Request for verification of household use
- Membership termination
We reserve the right to monitor membership activity to ensure compliance with these Terms. If usage appears inconsistent with household recycling behavior or violates this Fair Use Policy, we may reach out to verify use and take corrective action at our discretion.
7. Promotional Trials and Special Offers
We may offer trial periods or discounted membership plans based on promotional campaigns or eligibility criteria (e.g., student or nonprofit status). Trial memberships are subject to these Terms and, subject to applicable law, may convert automatically to paid memberships unless canceled before the trial ends.
Eligibility for promotional or discounted plans may require documentation. Trashie reserves the right to determine and verify eligibility.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice via email or through our website. Changes will become effective immediately unless otherwise stated. If you continue your Membership after changes take effect, you are deemed to have accepted the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you may cancel your membership. We recommend members review the Terms periodically for updates.
9. Limitations
- Memberships are non-transferable and for individual use only.
- TrashieCash™ earned through your Membership may not be resold, transferred, or combined with other accounts.
- We reserve the right to refuse or revoke Membership for abuse, fraud, misuse of benefits, or behavior inconsistent with our values and community standards.
- Benefits may be subject product or service availability, or geographic restrictions.
10. Termination by Trashie
We may terminate your Membership at our discretion. If your Membership is terminated without cause, we will issue a prorated refund based on the number of full months remaining in your Membership. No refund will be given if the termination results from your misuse or violation of these Terms.
11. Privacy
Your personal information will be collected and used in accordance with our Privacy Notice. By joining the Membership, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your data as described in the Privacy Notice.
